Flag Hill | Mini Wedding

“There's two things I know for sure, She was sent here from heaven and she's daddy's little girl.”

Not only was this beautiful May wedding at Flag Hill Distillery & Winery my first wedding of the 2021 season, but it was also my first Mini Wedding Package! I have to say that I am completely smitten with this package! This couple took my two hour elopement package and added an additional hour, and it was perfection. Flag Hill is such a gorgeous all-in-one location, really tailor made for micro wedding style!

From the beautiful ceremony location overlooking the vines, to the wonderful open air tent for reception and dancing! The amazing on site wedding planners even made it possible to fit in a perfect cake cutting before our time was up. My favorite part of all weddings, mini weddings included, is family portrait time. This is something I have found to be akin to herding cats, but with a bit of direction and my trusty “Top Ten” we can ensure that every family member is included and that the couple really gets all their special family members in on the day.

Taylor and Brett were so smitten with each other and completely at ease wrapped in each others arms, and it showed from start to finish.
Their family and friends gathered to celebrate their love and it was a beautiful May day!

Thank you Taylor and Brett for the honor of being the one to document your beautiful day! I wish you many, many years of happiness!

Personalized Decor | Lee, NH

The details of a wedding day set the stage for the story that you want told, personalized wedding decor is an absolute must. As a Lee, New Hampshire wedding photographer, living in a Pinterest wedding world, I have seen quite the assortment of personalized wedding day details. Florals ranging from babies breath and sunflowers wedding bouquets to orchids and ranunculus bridal party bouquets, each a new shade of color and beauty. New Hampshire wedding table decor can range from homemade jams and family heirloom apple orchard boxes to red rose and candle filled lanterns.

I love arriving on a wedding day and being one of the first people to see the couples wedding decor completed in all its beauty. (Photographer side note: This is also the best time to photograph it, as there will be no roaming guests or stray clutch in any photo).

I think back to a Flag Hill Distillery & Winery wedding where the couple had an assortment of guests hand draw platypus’ prior to the wedding, the brides father then used a wood burner to burn each drawing into a table number board. Talk about personalized decor.

This pacific northwest wedding couple also wore traditional European floral crowns to honor family heritage, while the grooms boutonniere had a honey bee pin to match the brides honeybee embroidered dress. Your day is just that, yours, make each detail count.

^ The sweetest of elopement weddings ever. This wedding was held inside the families hundred year old farm home on the Seacoast of New Hampshire.

Personalized wedding decor doesn’t just pertain to your wedding day bouquets, but also your guest books! Think outside the box, The below guests “books” are beautiful wall hangings and wine barrels, along with a guests bench! The guest bench is actually a funny story ( funny for the couple now!) , just prior to the wedding there was a bit of a storm that took down a large tree limb on the couples property, and the limb landed ever so gracefully on top of the brides vehicle. Now as any good New Hampshire groom would do, he cut that limb up and made a bench from it!

Outdoor wedding decor can be specific to the couple also! Delicate aisle side lanterns lend a dash of whimsy to a beautiful vineyard ceremony setting, while twinkling bulbs soften the hay loft of a family farm. Also remember that not only your vows can be from the heart, your entire ceremony can lend its hand at spotlighting who you are. Couples of mine have shared sips of wine, locked away bottles with notes to be shared in the coming years, joined water together to symbolized to families blending into one.

A favorite moment of mine is actually from a children’s book, the couples wedding was officiated by a family member whom read from a personalized children’s book, the words and book forever joining the two. This book now and forever can be kept as a special physical memory of their ceremony together.

And lets not forget the diamonds, lace and dapper ties!! Whether your dress be lace or satin, snow white or cream, make sure to choose the one that makes your heart scream. [ see what i did there ;) ]

So when it comes to your day, remember to not get swept away in the overwhelming lists of items to be checked off and the people you “have to” invite. Remember that this day is and will always be yours!
