4 Tips To Make Your Day Even More Perfect | NH Wedding Photographer

Write Love Notes

Your wedding day will be filled from beginning to end with hugs, smiles and stories of love and laughter with family and friends. Tip One is Write Love Notes. Take a moment before your big day to write a note to your soon to be spouse, tell them of your excitement for the big day, of your anticipation of the future, and the love you have for them. Then the day of the wedding exchange the letters, for extra special photos make sure to keep them held tightly until the photographer arrives. You can choose to read them to yourselves, or to each other, but either way this is a moment that is sure to make your day even more special.

Hold Hands

Now lets be real, never let go of that new Husband or Wife of yours, this is your day to proclaim that they are yours! Love on them! More specifically though, hold hands during your first dance, take it back to traditional dancing, and a bit less middle school dance style. Not that you do not still look completely adorable and in love, but traditional posture will show off your beaming faces … and a bit less elbow and arm pit.

Have A First Look

Once your day is rolling, it is going to be so filled with fun, laughter, hugs and if your are lucky food! ( Make sure you stop and eat! * bonus tip ) By having a first look you are carving out a special time that you know will be just you and your spouse, a quiet moment before the hustle starts where you can really take each other in and appreciate the huge step you are taking in your lives. Trust me when I say that a first look will not detract from the special moment of walking down the aisle, if anything it will allow you to fully enjoy it, the nerves will have left because those moments during the first look will remind you of what is important during your day.

Smile, Laugh, Joke

I know it sounds so simple, but as soon as the camera is out, bam we all become deer in the headlights. Be playful, be cuddly tell a joke, make it clean, or dirty, either way I promise I won’t listen, but in that moment you bet I will be capturing those smiles!

In a blink of an eye you have grown from a toddler that was terrerizing their house, to a

Colleen + Adam | Flag Hill Distillery | Rainy Day Love | Lee, NH

100% Chance of Rain. Nor’Easter. Heavy Winds.
Those were the words that were being used to describe the wedding weekend of Colleen and Adam, and all three delivered. The weather may have been rough, but nothing could stop these two from smiling as they became man and wife at Flag Hill Distillery and winery in Lee, NH.

Both Colleen and Adam started their days by exchanging special wedding day gifts. I love when couples exchange gifts and keep them wrapped for my arrival, it is such a special moment to be able to capture. Both Colleen and Adam were then able to wear those special gifts on their day, a beautiful set of pearls for Colleen and for Adam a dashing new watch.

From a First Look in the awesome Distillery to stolen moments among the spirit bottles, Flag Hill delivered a beautiful day, and the rain only helped to tighten the knot that was tied.

Seacoast New Hampshire Wedding Photographer | 2017 Wrap Up

One of the best things about being a New Hampshire wedding photographer is watching the beauty of the seasons change from one session to the next. Couples engagement session can be scheduled any time from contract to wedding month, and I always love looking back and comparing the seasons between the two.

How beautiful is it to have full NH fall colors in an engagement session and then full summer greenery come wedding day, or beautiful apple blossoms in late spring to the gorgeous golden oak trees at an autumn wedding.

New Hampshire really does spoil us with the beauty of seasons.

Renee + Kenney | New Hamphire Wedding | Flag Hill Winery + Distillery

Not even the chance of rain could bring these two down off of cloud nine! Thankfully the rain skirted right around us at Flag Hill Winery, never even spitting a drop, and the wedding day went off without a hitch!

From the very first moment that I met Kenny at the couples engagement session, I could tell just how much he truly loved every ounce of Renee, when he said "whatever you would like", he truly meant it! This love became even more apparent to me as this wedding day unfolded.

From the sweet moments of their first kiss, to the aw stricken reaction as Renee walked down the aisle, these two are so in love.

Their beautiful little Ms. Savannah may or may not have tried to walk away with the show, and possibly a lantern, mid ceremony, but man wait until you see how stinkin cute she was while doing it!

Meaghan + Talon | New Hampshire Outdoor Wedding | Flag Hill Distillery + Winery

The weather was a perfect 75 degrees, the sun was shining and the vines at Flag Hill Winery + Distillery, Lee, NH were in their full bloom glory, this day was destined to be gorgeous! The bride and all the special women in her family were all preparing while sipping champagne at The Wingate Salon and Spa in Stratham, NH But... before we get to all the beautiful photos and sweet love story can we rewind it back ten days.

Not even two weeks prior to the wedding day and the bride is in emergency surgery to remove her appendix, then one day before her wedding, just prior to her rehearsal, shes teaching a cycle class! Girl what?! She then continues the wedding day by dancing the night away!

So really and truly the fact that they met at a gym, and Talon fell in love while being razzed by the ever so sweet bride for not keeping up with her and then that Talon popped the question while the two were on a 6:30 am run while on vacation in St. Croix should come as no surprise because umm beast mode! And yes I said on vacation ... and run .... and 6:30 AM all in one sentence.

Then after the excitement of the proposal wore down a bit .... they finished their (way to early) run with burpees and squats. hese two get it done!

Wondering where Talon was keeping the ring... nope not the pocket.... his shoe. Yep that's love, running with a "rock" in your shoe to start and then putting a foot sweat ring on your finger. xoxo

Now for the pretty day!

Meaghan + Talon thank you so much for the opportunity to document your beautiful day! It was truly a beautiful day full of so much love and fun!

Tips For Better Wedding Photos | New Hampshire Wedding Photographer

Everyone is always full of tips and tricks for a smoother wedding day, but this is not really that. These tips are going to be from the perspective of the photographer to ensure many beautiful photos for your albums, because who doesn't want that!

1. Look Up

I know this sounds super easy and silly to even mention, but it's worth mentioning. Brides as soon as you start down the aisle, look up at me. Mention it to your father too, because for some reason as soon as a bride and her father start down the aisle, instantly eyes drop down. I know it's nerves, and nerves will get the best of all of us... I too have a great shot of my father and I staring at the ground, but fight the urge. Look up at me, look past me to your groom, make eye contact with him, take it all in! This is the moment that all your planning has been for, this is your moment. I mean really how do you want to miss seeing this reaction?! [...]

I am so excited to announce that I will be working with Flag Hill Winery & Distillery as a preferred vendor, and I can not wait for the many weddings I will get to document and couples I will get to fall in love with there!

If you are still on the look out for a beautiful wedding and reception location you truly owe it to yourself to check this vineyard out. It's hard to believe that my husband and I actually checked out Flag Hill nearly 8 years ago for our wedding, prior to deciding to do an elopement style day, It was beautiful then and is even more gorgeous now.

While you are there make 100% sure to partake in a wine tasting and most definitely take home a bottle of their amazing Cayuga Sparkling White Wine! It is so light and sweet and a perfect way to toast to your futures together! [...]
