Burying The Bourbon | Southern Tradition | Chasing Away The Rain

Amy-Brown-Photography-Seacoast-NH-New-Hampshire-Outdoor-Wedding-Flag Hill-Distillery-And-Winery_0715.jpg

There is an old southern folklore that says if you bury a bottle of bourbon at the site where the bride and groom are to be married it won't rain on their wedding day. The tradition states that this must be done exactly one month before the wedding, the bottle must be completely full, and it must be buried upside down! The bottle should be dug up post-ceremony and enjoyed with the bridal party, so really this is a winning idea no matter the outcome!

Now hustle on over to Flag Hill, beg and plead that you can "borrow" a bit of their woods line, and get yourself a bottle of bourbon!

After The Wedding Must Have | Album | Amy Brown Bride

Months and months of your time goes into planning for your beautiful New Hampshire wedding, and now the day has come and you are officially MARRIED! Now what?! .... Now you need to preserve those beautiful images!

If you are an Amy Brown Bride then I know that you will already have all of your gorgeous images safely on an online album for you to share forever, but lets be real, there is just something special about holding an item in your hands. Nooks and tablets of all kinds may be taking over, but you wont see libraries closing down anytime soon... why? Because physical items matter, and there is a special feeling to holding a book, or a wedding album in your hands.

This is why I suggest that all my couples order an heirloom album, these albums will not separate or fall apart with time, these albums, like your marriage, will hold true and solid. Each thick page  displays your love on classically beautiful lay flat binding allowing for full panoramic images.

Albums can be ordered in many size combinations, but the classic options being  8x8 , 10x10 and 12x12.

Cover options range from many shades of linen to leather. One of my favorite cover options, is the distressed leather, it arrives with the presence of already being wrapped in history, just like your relationship.

Each album also arrives in a linen keepsake box, for safe storage at home and in travel.

The above album is:
 8x8 square
Leather bound in Distressed Timber
20 Pages holding 40 Images

Michiko + Tyler | New Hampshire Fall Wedding | Flag Hill Winery | Lee, NH

Fall in New Hampshire. Period.

This NH wedding is 100% pure beauty and full of so much color it's amazing!   The trees at Flag Hill Winery were in their full glory for this October wedding, and we were blessed with a beautiful 65 degree day!

Michiko and Tyler tied the knot beneath the vineyards, color filled oak trees and surrounded by so much love.  From a blissful first look with her dad, to a tear filled aisle walk to her groom, it is very apparent that Miko is deeply loved by the men in her life!

Caitlyn + Jim | Surprise Engagement | Flag Hill Winery Lee, NH

I officially love surprise engagements! I mean really anything surprise is a blast to photograph, because those emotions are so real! When I received my first email from Jim, a month and a half out from the engagement day, I was so giddy with excitement! I reached right out to Christa at Flag Hill Distillery and Winery and she was equally excited, because well, we love, love!!

On the day of, I was a total creeper and was hiding behind the trees to watch Jim and Caitlyn's tour of the vines and the animals on the property and then jumped under the cover of the tent to hide as they came around the corner to "The SPOT" This is where I strolled out to "be the vineyard photographer" and got everyone together for a great photograph of the tour group, "for the website"! Marissa + Roland | New Hampshire Vineyard Wedding | Flag Hill Distillery + Winery

Marissa and Roland are married! The two tied the knot at the ever so beautiful Flag Hill Winery and Distillery in Lee, NH.  Flag Hill is one of my favorite locations to shoot at, not only are the grounds beautiful, being NH's largest vineyard, but the people are some of the best to work with! Christa and Maddie and their entire team are top notch!

The moment I walked into Marissa's bridal suite in Durham, New Hampshire I was welcomed by a cool, calm and collected bride while each of her maids and mama casually lounged, chatting away. From that point on I knew this was going to be a great day! Marissa and Roland have been extremely sweet from the moment that I met them at Flag Hill Winery , and I was elated when they choose me to document their love filled day.

Bliss Studio from Dover, NH did a stunning job on Marissa's hair and make-up and were so amazing by coming right to the brides side to insure a stress free morning

Make sure to check for the shot of the handwritten letter and beautiful gift that Roland gave his bride the morning of their wedding, earrings that are sure to be treasured for a lifetime.

Michiko + Tyler | Engagement Session | Epping, NH Orchard

I am in love! If I could shoot engagement sessions in New Hampshire apple blossoms for the rest of my days I totally would!! I mean come on, just wait until you see these two!! In late October these two will tie the knot in a beautiful fall wedding at Flag Hill Winery & Distillery in Lee, NH. From beautiful spring blossoms to fall foliage, these two are capturing all the beautify that is New Hampshire seasons!  Flag Hill is by far one of my favorite venues, with amazing people and gorgeous scenery.  With the combination of this adorable couple and that venue it is destined to be a fabulous day!  This apple orchard session also had me thinking, how GORGEOUS would it be to have a wedding right in the pathway among the blossoms! Sign me up!

Miko and Tyler deserve all the "awwwws" because these two are so sweet and once the session got rolling you could tell they are totally in love! Let me also tell you I  found this location while out roaming with my son, sent Miko & Tyler a text along the lines of "OMG I foung this gorgeous location let me know what you think?!" I could not have been more excited when they agreed! No matter where I go and what I am doing, my eye is constantly searching and thinking which couple would totally love it here?!

So now that I have rambled... the photos!

My Wish For You | Personal

My husband and I have recently purchased a new home, and we are in the midst of giving it the love it needs, and earlier today I spent my afternoon re installing outlets and light switches and it got me to thinking about my father. It has been nearly three years since my dad has passed and hardly a day goes by that I do not see something or do something that reminds me of him... and god how scary it is when I do something and realize, yikes I am my father daughter! The following is a post that I wrote on my personal Facebook page and it started the ball rolling of what my wish is for you. My wish for my son and each of you newly engaged and newly married couples is that you find a spouse that CHOOSES you.
