This day started right away in a positive manner in the way of only hitting 25 minutes of traffic driving down through Boston, I was pretty psyched! It's all about thinking of the plus side right?! I was already pretty excited for the day as this wedding was my first time second shooting, this means that I am standing in as back up and there to provide additional angles from the day.
Once I arrived at the Marriott, met up with the head photographer, and headed up to Sophia's bridal suite I knew it was going to be a fabulous day, the bride had three high fashion dresses set out for her day! Sophia walked down the aisle in a crisp white, strapless ball gown with a full tulle skirt, danced into her future and took her first dance with her husband in a gorgeous, strapless, form fitted, ruched, cyan gown and then wrapped up the night in a swoop neck, fire red, with accent beading gown!
The bridesmaids wore tulle draped strapless grey tea length dresses, while the maid of honor wore a floor length light pink and gold accented strapless gown. The two paired perfectly with the timeless, chic elegance of the day.
Talk about a full fashion night, each of the brides dress' had its own hair style, done by Jane Hair & Makeup, and amazing shoes to finish the look. I am so in love! Each one of these women, both guests and bridal party, were on point when it came to their fashion!
To follow through with the elegant look of the entire day the bride arrived to the wedding ceremony, with her father in a creamy white, classic, Rolls-Royce. This simple choice in vehicle took the feel of the day to the next level, a simple stretch limo would just not have cut it.
The ceremony was held at the beautiful and bright Quincy Covenant Church . The aisle was aglow with radiant sunshine and the pews were each draped in a simple but elegant pink rose and greenery swag. I love having a first look with a bride and groom, where they take a private moment before the wedding to see each other and basque in the love, but there is just something so special about watching the groom see his bride for the first time as she walks down the aisle towards him!
After the ceremony the bride and groom, now husband and wife, enjoyed the ride back to their reception, toasting champagne and grinning from ear to ear!
After the beautiful ceremony we ventured onto the outdoor patio at the Marriott, and had a fabulous time shooting the formal photos with the couples family and bridal party. I feel like this is the time when we really get to see the real people in the fancy outfits, the nerves have calmed after the ceremony and now its all about fun, and enjoying the day before it all flies by for them.
How cute are those balloons! They were attached to the fencing just outside where we were shooting, so of course I had to include them!
Sophia changed directly into her second ensemble as soon as the photos were complete and she was ready to dance the night away surrounded by amazing friends and family!
The couple had three amazing speeches where friends share stories from their past. Smiles, laughs and applause were shared as well! I love the fact that these two were once Boston tour guides for Chinese tourists, but being that they were new to the area, Sophia would simply point to random buildings while Joe would give random facts ... I am still not sure if the facts were true or fabricated, but oh how I would have loved to be on those tours! In the end though, each of the speeches came back to one point, how amazing of friends both Joe and Sophia are to everyone and what sweet people they are.
Later on Sophia again changed into her fire red gown and partied the night away!
Thank you to Alexsandra, the main photographer for giving me the opportunity to work with you on this amazing wedding.
Thank you to Sophia and Joe for the honor of documenting your elegant story, it truly was a blast! It was great to get to know not only you two but your amazingly sweet friends and family! I look forward to any opportunity to work with you all again.
